Stencilled Patio Screen Door
One day I've noticed that it is very difficult to see the
closed screen door from the sundeck and having to replace
it would be a real nuisance. So I came up with this idea.
I chose a butterfly stencil, a hard brush and outdoor house
paint. It was very easy to do and looks great and should help.
The stencil is not really visible from the inside, only at
certain angles.

Video Tape Owl
My husband was cleaning the video tape drawer and was
going to throw out old ones. That made me think of ways
to recycle the tapes.
I found a leftover roll of drawer liners. I made to
underside of the tape the top. The flap over the tape
is hidden under the checkered drawer liner that I glued
on with a glue gun. But first I drilled 2 small holes
in the back and threaded a thread through so it could
be hung on the wall or stood on a shelf.
From my water filtering cartridges I had saved the sealer
rings. They made ideal eyes. The pupils are the round
black feet that were supposed to go on a audio tape
case and never did.
Centered between the eyes there was a small hole on
the tape case and I glued a nose/beak on that. I used
a piece of tubing that was about 1 inch long.

Marlies' Creative Universe Plaque
When my pressure cooker sealer ring didn't do its work
any longer it presented itself as a wonderful frame
for a plaque for my new craft room.

- I arranged the ring in an oval shape and traced it onto
paper, then I cut it out of a styrofoam meat tray to make
it sturdy and lightweight.
- I had saved the outdoor carpet leftover from the front
steps. I used this as the background and glued it onto the
tray .
- Taking the title from my web site I made a sun. First
I used again one of my waterfilter sealer rings as the base.
In Microsoft Works I wrote the title as a circle and printed
it, cut it out, colored it and glued it on the ring. The
sun's rays are made out of yellow fun foam. In the center
of the circle I glued a red salt dough heart and on the
sun's rays 3 little dolphins.
- The little native girl comes from my experimenting with
my daughter's dolly maker oven and the glue gun.
- For the little tree I used half a small styrofoam ball
with rosebuds glued on. The stem is the stick from those
balloons they give out in department stores to children.
The pot is a piece of vinyl blind cut and painted. * The
little yarn angel I had found on the net one day. I used
a small bead inside the head to give it its shape.
- With dimensional paint I drew a spider's web on a piece
of glass and let it dry. The next day I gently removed it
with a craft knive and put it on the plaque. A glue gun
spider made it complete.
