As you probably know, there are thousands and thousands of MIDI files on the internet. "So why do we need another MIDI archive?" - you would ask. "I don't know" - I would answer - "but amidst these thousands files only few are good, so I researched and collected the best files relying on my taste". That's why this collection is in some sense unique. Although I didn't make any of these files you can listen to only one of mine here).
Now few words about MIDI. First of all that stands for "Musical Instrument Digital Interface". The essence is that MIDI file is not a recording, it's a score by which your sound card or synthesizer plays with its built-in voices. Therefore the better synthesizer means much better sound of MIDI file playback. That's why SoundBlaster with its Yamaha OPL-3 FM-synthesis chip sounds terrible. So I recommend Wavetable soundcard (such as SoundBlaster AWE32, Ensoniq Soundscape etc.), or for the best results - external GM-compatible MIDI synthesizer. The files will sound different on different kinds and brands of synthesizers, so it is always better to open the file in MIDI editor/sequencer (links to MIDI software here) and adjust all parameters to your synthesizer. For detailed information on MIDI look here. So, choose the files, click, and listen! All files in this collection are very good and made quite professionally. All MIDI files on my pages are believed to be public domain.

There are huge classical music archives on the internet, so I present here just a few well-known examples:
Video Killed The Radio Star (60K) - very nice and well-made song from middle of 80-s. I think it's the only one from this category I don't have in my tapes or CD's. and that's a pity...
· Miscellaneous ·
Nice one (37K) - reminds me of a circus performance :)
Ballgame (13K) - they played valses like this on the carousels long time ago...
Beetlejuice (26K) - jumpy music from the movie "Beetlejuice".
