Tuesday

Huzzah! One Week today.

Ok, not much of an anniversiary, but it's a start.

We sent off the bid, and got the final list of 'todo's from our customer today, and that's pretty much it. I was lucky, and Carl was able to send the basic info to Gary. Maybe that's petty of me, but I didn't force Carl to do anything.

Spent part of my day talking to a gentleman from 'near Atlanta'. Atreus, seems to be an interesting fellow. Who knows, I might get to know him better. Lots better, if you know what I mean. He's nice enough at this stage, anyway.

I've always had a weak spot for Greek Scions, anyway...

Republicans vs Democrats
Ok, I don't know how this section developed, it's sort of Rant section, so I'll call it that for lack of a better name. It's almost always related to something that happened that day, so I guess it's kosher. Anyway, this is a journal, not a diary. No promises on what is contained herein.

I've got a small cartoon on my desk here at home (well it's around here somewhere...) It's a Life in Hell...Title "Choices". Then it goes in and shows eight nearly identical things. "Sugar" or "Saccharin" (this was before aspartame, folks). "FM" vs "AM". Heaven and Hell are shown (both drawn as black rectangles.) and, of course "Repbulican and Democrat" to nearly identical looking suits.

I got into an argument with someone today about Clinton vs Bush vs...whatever. Totally unimportant argument. Neither one is particularly great.

I'm a registerd Republican, because I believe in voting as often as possible. So that rules out everything but Republican or Democrat. I'm a Republican because it gives me those extra chances to vote against Jesse Helms.

I'm going to say one good thing about Jesse Helms. I'm probably the only non-christian, non-straight who will say something nice about him, but I will anyway.

Sen. Helms is exactly what he seems to be. This is really a major difference from most of our politicians, who are "whoever will get re-elected" instead of who they are. It's kinds sad, but we keep electing him back again and again, despite the who-he-is. Maybe some of the better politicians will learn from example, and drop the charade. Then we can both admire and like them.

Personally, I want the government one of two ways. First, and preferred, so small it can't do harm, and out of my private life. Second, so big, it can't do anything effectively. Right now we have the second, most of the time.

More on my views, and the book "It Ain't Nobody's Business If I Do" later this week.

Until then, watch your back the politicians are stil out there.
