This is where it all began... My church had a banner making class and this was my first project. Almost all of the materials were given to me by friends and relatives. That sure made it more affordable. My mother has since put in an order for a wall-hanging and now has me working on the "Three Kings" for her. I am trying to use mostly scraps for this one also. I hope to have that finished by Christmas.

I have fallen in love with creating artwork with fabric. I have gone a bit crazy since (as you will see). Here are a few samples of my work

Stitch, stitch, stitch! This triangle shaped bag is a "sample of stitches". I used the Crazy Quilt style and joined each of the sides using different stitches, threads and some beads. It was much more exciting than just stitching lines on a cloth!

I haven't found any Embroidery Guilds on-line but I often visit the Canadian Quilters Association.

I came up with this idea while trying to get some sleep one night (that is when I get most of my ideas). I decided to create a felt hat in a pill box style. I made the background to look like brick by stitching in the lines and then added several colours of felt for leaves and embroidered them with yellows and greens. I also used jewt for the vine effect (although I discovered in making it that I am allergic to the jewt). Aaaaaachewwwww!

This project is known as the Pride Hat. I have not worn it yet but it was fun to make. It contains the colours of the rainbow all around the sides with hand stitched embroidery in yellow and red on the front and the top. Several people have shown an interest in a multi-production of this style.
