Hola, y bienvenidos! A Cybear Fiesta?? Of course; we're in cyberspace, after all, and I love Teddy Bears!
My favorite color is blue.
I love to snack on cookies! My brother used to refer to me as ‘the cookie monster’! My students love to relax in my living room as we enjoy Oreos, Teddy Grahams, or whatever I happen to have on hand.
My passion is ballet folklórico and I was Coach (Director/Choreographer) El Grupo de Danza y Arte Folklórico de la Universidad de Tejas, also known as the U.T. Ballet Folklórico for 29 1/2 years. As one of the founding members of this student organization (Fall of 1975) I helped to ensure its continued success throughout 29 years! I truly enjoyed our 25 year anniversary and reunion in 2000!!! In the past, I've also consulted with Roy Lozano's Ballet Folklórico de Texas; I was among the folks who were instrumental during the company's formative years.
I'm a survivor, and have an incredible sense of humor.
I treasure the friendships I’ve made and the countless memories we’ve created together throughout the years. I miss my best friend of over 18 years, who I lost in March of ’94. Memories and occasional dreams sustain me.
I'm now working at Austin Heart's newest office, located South. I've held positions at Austin Regional Clinic as a PSR, as a Business Systems Consultant in the Travis County Purchasing Office, and for the City of Austin for 12 years. I began my City service in 1987 at the Health & Human Services Department in their Human Resources unit, then took a promotional opportunity at the Electric Dept. in 1990 (now Austin Energy Services).
I attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1974 through 1978, and again in '82-'83, but I have yet to finish my degree. I started in the Business School, studying to be a CPA, but ended in Liberal Arts studying Spanish for Teacher Certification.
I’m an excellent listener.
