The Pale Brown Ribbon Campaign

The Pale Brown Ribbon Campaign to break chain email was inspired by the
famous
Blue Ribbon Campaign for online free speech. It must be
admitted that writing and sending chain letter online can be
regarded as a form of speech. However, basic reasoning tells us
that harassment of any kind is not what free speech is supporting,
and sending chain letter online is definitely a form of harassment.
Any email that requires you to forward multiple duplicates of
itself is considered a chain email. It might not be obvious,
but quick money scams are also a form of chain email. These
scams not only require you to make duplicates of the text and
forward them to as many people as possible, they also request
money. In the United States, this is illegal, as pointed out
by an
official statement from the United States Postal Service.
