Kendal Windham & Bobby Duncum Jr., w/ Curt Hennig & Barry WIndham d. Juventud Guerrera & Psychosis. Rey Mysterio Jr. d. Vampiro w/ the Insane Clown Posse Vampiro is DQ'd when ICP jumps in and along with Vampiro, beat Rey down. Stevie Ray d. Vincent w/ Horace Hogan pretty uneventful match. Brian Adams attempted a run-in but was intercepted by Booker T. toting a chair. Lash LeRoux VS. Prince Iaukea Savage made a run-in before the match even got underway and attacked both LeRoux and Iaukea. Medusa and Mona came out and laid blame for their recent "firings" on Gorgeous George. As the women made their way to the ring Gorgeous George made a hasty retreat to outside the ring. George was backing away from the ring down the aisle into the arms of.....Dennis "The Worm" Rodman, who snatched her by the wrist and left the arena, with Savage in hot persuit. Evan Karagias d. Ernest Miller, w/ Sonny Onoo Ernest was on his way to a win, but when he reached into his bag to retrieve the "loaded red slippers" he pulled out bunny slippers....at which point Buff Bagwell came out displaying that he had the Cats dancing shoes. Karagias took the opportunity to pin Miller after which, Miller gave chase to Bagwell and his coveted shoes. Steven Regal, w/ David Taylor d. Mikey Whipwreck with an assist by Taylor, Regal pinned Whipwreck. Goldberg d. Curt Hennig, w/ the West Texas Rednecks by DQ Goldberg got a huge pop as he entered the ring. the match was pretty much one sided, till Hennig hit Goldberg's head with Bobby Duncum's Cow bell, Which only seemed to make Golberg angry. The DQ came when the Rednecks entered the ring when it became aparent that Hennig would not win. Golberg speared each one as they entered the ring. Medusa d. Patty Stonegrinder typical womens match, Medusa hit Stonegrinder with a German Suplex for the win. Shane Douglas d. Scott Putski Shanes First match since returning to WCW, was a display of his technical ability. David Flair, w/ Asia & Torrie Wilson d. Chris Benoit As you can probably imagine, Benoit domintated the match, but with Charles Robinson, refusing to accept David's tap-outs, and DDP whacking him over the head, Flair once again, takes the win. Rick Steiner d. Chase Tatum Despite Tatums size advantage, Steiner quickly did away with the newcomer. Kevin Nash & Sid Vicious d. Sting & Hollywood Hogan Sting & Hogan seemed to function as a cohesive unit, but when the ref got sandwiched between Sid, and a Stinger Splash, Steiner made a run-in and beat Sting and Hogan with a chair. Nash got the 3-count as the ref regained consciousness and didn't see the interferance by Steiner. after the match, Goldberg made a run-in but was promply beaten with a chair by Steiner. at which point nitro left the air... 07.19.99- WCW - Fit Finlay d. Jerry Flynn Finlay was schmucked into leaving the arena in chase of his hardcore trophy, where Jimmy Hart, and the first family gave him a beat down. Gene Okerlund interviewd Hogan Hogan is making his gradual turn to face, note the references to his past gimick, wearing more white, and less NWO aparel,(belt and shirt) Norman Smiley d. Lodi (with lenny lane) In the aftermatch when Smiley was doing his celebratory "big wiggle" Lodi and Lenny joined him. Sting d. Ric Flair for control of WCW, sting walked to the ring, and gave Charles Robinson a deathdrop, effectively taking out one of Flairs key components. Sting came away with the win, despite the multiple interferences by Asya, and Arn Anderson, when he put flair in the scorpion deathlock when the ref was knocked out. Eric Bischoff came in for the 3-count as Mickey J was knocked cold when Flair pulled him into the path of a stinger splash. The match wrapped up when Sid entered the ring and beat down both Sting, and Bischoff, and ended with powerbombing Bischoff to the mat. Rick Steiner d. Horace Hogan for the TV title. Horace was attacked by Kevin Nash midway through the bout. early showings of a Nash/Steiner alliance. Eddie Guerrero d. Psychosis Post-match, a groupe of luchadors attacked Guerrero for the previous nitro when he had them unmasked by the police. Rey Mysterio made a run in and helped Eddie clean house.There seemed to be a rough alliance created Stevie Ray d. Kanyon (w/ the Triad) Despite the interference of the remaining members of the triad, Stevie walked away with the win. Post-match the triad attacked Stevie and were attempting to tape his wrists to the ropes, when Booker T made the run-in rescue....not the NWO B&W. Randy Savage (w/ Gorgeous George & Miss Madness) d. Kidman Kidman gave an admirable effort, but in the end, Savage was just to experienced, and large for the young cruiser weight to take down. Dennis "The Worm" Rodman made a run-in as did Arli$$ (aka Robert Wuhl). Dennis rescued Kidman, while Arli$$ attempted to book a PPV event pitting The Worm vs. Savage. Enter Medusa who gets into a fight with Miss Madness Konnan d. Vampiro late in the match, ICP made a run in and proceeded to beat down Konan, Raven made an apearance, standing on the outside of the ropes. Mysterio tried to make a run-in but was beat down by the posse as well. Bagwell Interview Buff Bagwell came to the ring dressed like the cat accompanied by faux-Sonny & Chae (nitro girl) mocking the Ernest Miller's character brought out the real CAT & Sonny. The Cat hit Bagwell with the loaded shoe. Sonny Onoo had to do the 3-count as this was not officially a match so there was no official. Saturn & Benoit d. Hennig & Windham (w/ the West Texas Rednecks) mid-match, it was 4 on 2 as the rednecks pummeled Benoit and Saturn, Melenko made a run-in, as did Shane Douglas in his WCW Debut, Douglas Suggested all 4 men take WCW back from the "cancer" that was killing the organization. Hogan d. Sid Hogan entered the ring looking more like the "hulkster" than ever, and he held his own against Sid, till Nash made a run-in and the ref threw the match. Nash followed closely by Rick Steiner (confirming the alliance) were beating on Hogan when Sting entered to even the odds. then the Crowd went wild as Goldberg ran to the ring to assist Hogan & Sting. the three stood in the ring yelling at the three outside the ring. Nash/Steiner/Sid looked to have formed a solid team. 07.12.99- WCW - Savage obtains the belt last night on Bash at the Beach, with the help of his crew. Tonight, he enters the ring alone, and issues a challenge to any wrestler in the building other than Kevin Nash. Hogan, making his big return entrance, accepts the challenge. During the match, Sid made a run-in, but was intercepted by Sting before he could inflict to much damage to Hogan. Soon after, Kevin Nash entered the ring, powerbombed Savage, and layed hogan over him for the 1..2..3. Hogan regains consciousness to find he is the new Heavyweight Champ. Nash, however, had some parting words before he left for the locker-room. In effect, he told Hogan that was the second (and last) time he would hand him the championship, and he wanted a title shot next monday where he would NOT lay down for the count. Hogan agreed, and raised a ruckus with the crowd in the old style of the Hulkster. Is this forshadowing? can we expect Hogan to turn face in the near future? Till next time, M@giCian. |
