| Designed
to attract graduate students from outside the area, this facility of Durham
University seeks to establish a sense of belonging for those students who
are away from home. The complex is situated in a beautiful wood land descending
form the old city wall down to the River Wear. Thirty study bedrooms and
a gathering hall provide the graduate students with a relaxing environment
for studying and discussing late into nights, as well as for sharing and
exchanging their experience and thoughts. The buildings are arranged in
the way that gives the place and the landscape a greater extent and excitement.
Series of walls lead you indirectly through the woods and surprise you
with each discovery. It makes the landscape into a memorable
experience. |
