I have the original DAt tapes of 2 previously unavailable interviews (and I DO mean unavailable) including Chuck Britz (Brian Wilson's early engineer) and session drummer Hal Blaine. These tapes are superior quality (if you don't mind Hal chewing on peanu s occasionally throughout the interview). Chuck discusses everything from his personal feelings about Murry and each of the Beach Boys to Brian's cinderblock reverb studio technique. Hal speaks about everyone from Jan and Dean, Beach Boys, Mamas and the P pas, Carpenters, Sonny Bono, Elvis, etc, etc., etc., although I don't care for his negative words about Sonny. There are some very interesting moments of candor when Hal speaks about literally having the gun to his head/contemplation of suicide, his wife' suicide, his fight with John Phillip's in the studio, etc., etc., etc. The Chuck Britz interview goes about one hour and the Hal Blaine interview is 2 or 3 hours--very interesting stuff. email me if you're interested in this stuff. stevendouglas66@hotma l.com

Just wanted to let all of you California-heads know that I currently have a piano that was played and signed by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys! I work in a small family-owned piano company outside of Chicago (B.W.'s current locale), and Brian rented a pi no from us to play at a taping for VH-1 in St. Charles, IL. Since I have "connections," I was able to sit in on the taping, and it was a fairly unique event-- his first solo perfomance in years, I guess.
