2002

February 9:
La FESTE a La Tour du Lac
MH served as a 'Gentleman Server' for the SCA's Feast at Perigord sponsored by Seigneur Jehan du Lac. Highlights: gorgeous garb at the tables, pulling up wool stockings, kerving the occasional beast (or pottage), getting lost in the inky darkness of the Sanctuary, and the shot of homebrew when it was all over. April 6:
FOOTLOOSE

Shannon Armitage wowed crowds and brought tears to the eyes of her aunts and admirers with a shockingly professional performance. Where did that amazing contralto come from?!?

March 4:
WALK FOR HUNGER

Paula and MH walked and walked. During the 20-mile hike through Boston's better neighborhoods we marveled at the number of restaurants we hadn't been to, and buildings we can't afford to live in... not that we're looking along the Charles.

Project Bread

The kids in matching sweatsuits and insensible shoes were hilarious. But we were glad they were there too.

June 2-8:
FORT STORY

In the same day we suffered angrily through a family photo (which turned out not half-bad), got soaked in a saltwater bow-wave, and went (still soaking) on an evening quest for Trivial Pursuit Genus 6. The irony wasn't lost on us.

August 17-21:
BOB AND KATIE

Cousin and Lady kept us company! The Beach and Bowie invaded, and we painted the town red.

August 24-25:
HANG TEN

Paula and MH met in 1992, the night before MH's birthday. The two, with Sarah Greer (it was her idea) rowed around the pond at Smith College and talked about Theater and night air.

Veuve Clicquot Brut Carte Jaune

In 2002, we took the Downeaster to Portland and spent the weekend at the Purple Parrot Inn. We ate at J's Oysters (best in the land!), steeped in the Art Festival on Congress Street (and the Portland Art Museum), saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and walked EVERYWHERE.

September - December:
BU and MBCC

Polly taught Theater and American Society at Mass Bay Community College, and MH took Introduction to Programming with Java (B-). That's basically it. No, really, that's all we did. In the aftermath we are enjoying sunlight and freedom.
