Today I discovered something interesting. I am a Cat, chances are that if you are reading this, you
are a cat too. Of course if you'd read my all, and found it confusing, then my friend, you are a Dog.
I don't mean to insult you. There are just two kinds of people;
Dog and Cat, Cat and Dog. Everyone you see around you, every animate being is one or the other.
Both function and see the world differently.
For a dog, the world is simple. Right is right, wrong is wrong. The relationship of everything is direct and clear.
A cat however, sees the world as a metaphor. Things are never "only" what they seem. Everything is subjective. What it is today may not be what itis tomorrow.
Dogs know the world functions because of them. They see the world as they react to it, Cats see the world as it reacts to them.
Cats live by their own rules, and amend them as their mood shifts. There is no "right" and "wrong" just different degrees of the same thing. Cats have eyes that change as the moon changes. They are full of deceitfulness, prevarication and treachery. Cats shuffle and change their mind faster than a gambler's deck.
Dogs and Cats can seldom have meaningful talks because they mean different things when they say the same words. This is the characteristic that Dogs most hate about Cats: Their ambiguity.
A Cat, more often than not, amplifies this and enjoys it.
Dogs read poetry, Cats prefer to write their own. Dogs don't believe in little white lies,
Niether do Cats, they believe in big, fat, black ones (afterall, if you are going to lie, might as well make it a good one). While dog can be selfish, it takes a cat to be egotistical, a telling difference. A Cat is "arrogant", while a dog is "proud". Dogs are on time; a Cat will be late, cancel or just plain
forget. It's all relative to a Cat. Dogs do things for themselves, Cats prefer someone else do things for them, or plan ahead and do them for some ultimate goal down the road
(favors, world domination, etc.). Dogs are rigid in their
convictions, Cats are blithe. Dogs believe in the essential goodness of mankind. They see evil as something that can be overcome. A Cat believes only in the relativity of good and evil.
A Dog is all one thing, a Cat is more than just the sum of its parts. A Cat is a syncopated being, never the same picture, a loose form of impulses and multiple personalities. This pervades their world view, they take little notice of what is expected of them. A Dog is regimented and steady, more comfortable being told what to do. A Cat on the other hand hates taking orders but boy can they dish them out. A Cat believes in what it says as he says it. Which doesn't count for what he says tomorrow. True cats enjoy making arguments now and proving
themselves wrong tomorrow. The pleasure is the argument not the result. Strife is natural. Dogs are distressed by this, they want order and want it now. They need equilibrium to be happy. To know that peace reigns and everything is alright with the world. Variety is essential too keep cats from boredom. Dogs do not, cannot understand Cats, but Cats understand Dogs all too well. Cats get a long great with other cats because they know what to expect and know how much (or how little) to trust them. Dogs place their good faith in Cats just as they
do in dogs which often leads to misunderstandings. To make it simple Politicians and accountants are dogs, Musicians and Artists are Cats, Teachers are Dogs, but Cool teachers cats. you need dogs to make life possible, and cats to make it interesting. Don't you think?
