Ouverture - Friday Night

I met Darren at his home near Manchester Airport with his fiancé Kate. At that moment I was quite exhausted, but that should change quickly after a good cup of tea. Soon Darren took me to his parent's home and we went about preparing our cars for the meet. That is, Darren did, mostly. He really polished his silver puma with a lot of enthusiasm. That's one of the pictures I regret not having taken.
Later that day :-) we went home for a wash ourselves and a good dinner. Soon Richard showed up and we went to meet another couple of Ford Puma owners down in Cheadle Pub.
Now, I'm really bad at remembering names so I can't help offending a couple of you people having been there by having forgotten your name. I'll use #### everywhere where I can't remember the name. I'd really appreciate your helping me to fill out all the nasty ####es.
I do remember we met Johnnie Chan there (who also took pictures), since he managed to very elegantly toss his pint - one discipline missing from the Highland Games. That would be the second picture I'd liked to have taken. I also *suspect* a couple people from far away might have been there, too, but whether these were #### or really #### I couldn't tell.
Just received the first two #### fillers: Jason Aspinall and Toby Harris were two of the happy beer drinkers. Jason has his own North Run '99 picture site, too. There was already a good conversation going on all around Topics Puma Or Not, when something happened that I had quite forgotten about UK pubs: Last Orders, Please!
Well, it didn't take us long to all get home (thanks for the quarters, Darren - I owe you one!) I for myself at least went to sleep being very apprehensive of the coming day...
