Origin of the Stone Lion

The stone lion has been a favorite symbol of Ed's since his days of teaching Chinese at Kenyon College, Ohio. Ed marveled at the stone lions he saw during his trips to visit China. When Ed began his career as an artist some fourteen years ago, the first thing his family did was to buy him a stone lion and put it at the door of his studio. The stone lion above is one of Ed's original drawings from the actual stone lion at his studio door. Although it is not a very "Chinese-like" stone lion, it still very well symbolizes this noble form of art to Ed, and has become Ed's personal symbol and logo. This logo is the property of, and copyrighted by Ed Hayes, 2008.
