Rose's FUNky Furniture

...Garden Junque from the Trash

Relaxing in her studio...
New Orleans folk artist, Rosemary Basil rescues things from the trash and creates handpainted one of a kind works of art. She also enjoys growing plants from seed and photographing them. French Quarter sunsets too!
Office chairs from the 70's and 80's are her favorite candidate for makeovers.
Says Rose: "I worked in offices for years for minimum wage with all that boring utilitarian furniture. Maybe that's why I get such a kick out of trashing them with my own tropical graffiti."
Whimsical and vibrant with a surreal jungle fever, the famous Pink and Silver Leopard Chair has become her trademark. Here are some shots.
