I rode hard enough to retch in the evening and didn’t, proving I had a touch of the flu in the morning but shook it later in the day. WTS.

Run 5 miles WTS. Bike 16 miles WT incl. 10 miles time trial on WT (note: used the old, rusty, loud, indestructible fan wind trainer because it is much closer to road conditions…pain increases exponentially with speed…the mag trainer is so linear…in fact, my road 10mile and WT 10mile time trial records are identical at 22:59.) Anywho, my time was 23:13 which is marvy for March!! HR was 165 at 9mins and 168-72 for last 13 mins. RPMs were 78-82 for mins 0-10, 82-85 for mins 10-20, and 85+for mins 20-23.

Run 7 miles swim 1k incl. 5k in 20:10 and 750m swim in 12:26 …splash and sprint race. 2nd place. I’m pissed. Due to a bad lap count (I was right she was wrong. Crap I have a Master’s degree in the “dismal science” and don’t make math mistakes) I swam an extra 50m adding about 48-49secs to my time. I was in second place by 40 secs. I’m not a sore loser. I have lots of practise at losing and am quite skilled at it, but to lose because of a botched lap count is a bit different from losing because first place was faster. I’ll get over it.

I’m on my annual “use up vacation before fiscal year-end and get the hell away from the office and try to get some sleep” 2 week vacation. Cruelly, I can’t possibly train much more than I am now, my body would rebel but I can actually rest between workouts, sleep in, catch up on household projects (not likely) and maybe even update this page. I need this: work, which is usually a quiet sanctuary away from the chaos of the rest of my life has been untypically frantic of late. Unless I have a laptop I think that I should be able to enjoy a quiet bowel movement without being asked to provide a progress report in the lavatory by a certain manager, certainly lacking in social skills. Anywho, the workout: Run 5miles Bike 18 miles (transitions x5 with 800s in 2:59, 2:55, 2:57, 2:55, 3:00) I am trashed, destroyed, ankle is still sore and I’m having a bitch of a time getting my HR over 160 on the bike. WTS.
