Run 7 miles 3am 4pm off the bike, last 2k hard. Bike 30miles 5WT 25 road incl. 2x10 mins at HR 155-60. WTS. Swim 1k. I have no soul. After years of forestalling the inevitable (and wedging 3 varmints in the back of the Jetta) we bought a mini-van today. At least it is a VW so I don’t feel like a total dweeb….or so I keep telling myself. Next on the agenda: development of a hockey fan suburban paunch, a healthy dislike of anything different, big screen TV, lazyboy recliner, move to the ‘burbs’, die.

Today was one of those days where I fessed up to Dr.Steve about what I have been up to lately in order to get an easy workout...a rare moment when my dormant self-preservation instincts surface.

Traveled today to train and visit with Dr.Bob in Toronto. Train in To.? You laugh! Well, Dr.Bob really lives in Richmond Hill about a 10min.ride (through terrifying traffic) to the country. Run 2 miles. Bike 28 miles road @18.0mph. I’m trashed. Need a day off the bike.

Run 8 miles (4am 4pm). Taking a day off from spanking myself on the bike to engage in other masochistic pursuits…including, but not limited to, the comfy chair and the soft cushion. I noted that my ankle hurts when I’m in my runners and doesn’t when I’m in sandals. I tossed the orthotic and let my ankle flop around in its natural, gimpy position. I am proud to report that Little M. is now the Pee Wee Girls Provincial 800m Champion.

Bike 62 miles WT. Winds at gusting to 80kph so I think I may just stay inside. Easy. I’m thoroughly trashed but still a slave to my training log. (“Although I can barely turnover the pedals, if I ride for 62miles then I have an even 150miles for the week!!” Duh.) Run 4 miles incl. 7 hill repeats.
