Run On Down

                                                                           Carolyn Major

Run on down

Slow

Because if things were perfect

I’d be weak

And things are not perfect

And I am not weak

But I will continue to pray

And you will continue to sigh.

As I sit here expressing myself

Figuring out who I’m not

To figure out who I am.

Come out and play with me

Beneath the moon

Beneath the stars

Lift up my skin

Which is the veil that cover

My soul

And hides my true image

The one that I have yet to see

So run on down

Slow

And tell me who I am
