September 18, 1998: "Finished a lovely day - Siena was so beautiful. I saw the most beautiful chapels and a lot of art. The Cathedral of Siena is so incredible, and so was the Palazzo Pubblico. Saw Duccio's Maesta & Lorenzetti's Good Government. I felt a spiritual power in that cathedral that I could never put into words. It was as if God was calling me. My favorite thing was the hill in San Gimignano that overlooks most of Tuscany. I took lots of pictures. There was also a medieval torture museum that was molto interesante." | ![]() |
