Pair words
about ….
I don’t
write notes this time because all clever stuff goes in my letters.
But ….
Not a long
time ago I had a chat with one solid fellow who has big connections in US and he
again said that Americans are a bit blunt.
Of course I
was disagree having correspondence with so many of them.
But after
that I have got one funny American.
She wrote
that she studied Russia and of course loves ballet.
I asked
what did she remember about Russia and she said that it stamped in her memory
that Russia has a fame after lemurs.
I explained
that lemurs are in some way monkeys and live generally on Madagascar Island and
she probably minded lemmings. Only lemmings are just ordinary mouses and live
in North America jolly well too.
And she
answered that I probably don’t know what tarantula or roadrunner is.
;-) Every
child at age of six knows what roadrunner or tarantula is.
Also she
said that lemmings should be like prairie dogs.
So she made
double mistake – she messed lemmings with lemurs and lemmings with Arctic
foxes. Of course something about them seared in her mind because of their
well-known precious furs.
But it was
not the cinch.
She writes
every time to me Yours and Dear.
I mentioned
her that I don’t like it sounds and I abhor even idea of such addressing.
She said
that such type is jolly well in use in official circles and continued to use
it.
Also she
said something about her friend in Washington and about getting jobs in US for
Russians.
From last
info I failed to grasp nor head nor tail.
I even
fancied a joke – if US has such fellows who love to bomb so much and so blunt
citizens – I pity this country.
(To make
justice RF loves to bomb not less only they do it on their own territory and
that is why Russian are even blunter in some way that americans).
So resume
I talked
with one Person who
1)
Says
that my English isn’t good enough
2)
Says
that lemurs are much of prairie dogs and have precious fur and live in Tundra
3)
And this
is the only fact she could recollect as a merit of Russia
4)
Loves
to listen Russian ballet, (and even says that discerns there some words (!?))
5)
Thinks
that no one in the world knows what tarantulas or roadrunners are.
6)
Every
time keeps on saying Dear and Yours, (even when I strongly hinted that usually
I want to say f… off to such addressing).
I can’t say
that I have something against such persons –
They just
seem to me as a symbol of American
self-conceited bluntness, (again I say – I talked with many interesting persons
from US and even she doesn’t seems to me as blunt – just as good example of
what I talk about).
Hm, funny
idea – last time I talked some bad words about KGB to some people here in
Russia.
And right
after it she appears and says it’s good that I think about them bad but behaves
herself exactly to turn me to their side as if she was their agent,
(as if
saying “Look at this funny Americans – our spy men are far better”).
But talking
about KGB and such like: (I dunno about CIA but) KGB has absolute control on
any internet correspondence and traffic in Russia. I don’t want to prove it. Just
take is as scientific fact.
