About Diana

For the Goddess I have a great deal of affection, if you haven't noticed by now. There are many aspects of the Goddess, and most center around the Maiden, Mother, and/or Crone. I have written poetry which touches all these aspects. However, many of us have our favorites. My favorite is the Goddess Diana.

She is the Huntress, Protectress, Queen of the Forest, and to me personally, The Faery Queen. She also aids mothers in childbirth. She is the Maiden. She represents strength and independence to many. In art she is traditionally depicted with a bow and quiver, and a crecent moon on Her forehead. The Greeks called her Artemis.

Through the ages, there has always been a great deal of affection for Diana, especially from many of the poets. Many legends about her abound. My favorite reiteration of some of those legends can be found in Edmund Spenser's Faery Queen. This great poet seemes to have had the same affection for her that I do.

She was known in the middle ages as the Queen of the Witches. Wonderful Queen she is! Diana is my personal Protectress, as She is to many others.

These pages are my Valentine present to Diana. It is kind of a little tradition I have been into for the last couple of years. There were a series of wonderful events that took place around this time, then. I will not go into detail. Suffice to say, that I have a great deal of Affection for My Goddess.

So, To My Beloved Goddess, Diana .... Happy Valentines Day!
