Robbing Peter to pay Paula

My bills are excessive, right now. I couldn't figure out why, when we have such a large increase in income why we are still so freaking broke all the time, but then I started to realize that the stupid car has cost us upwards of $1000 over the past two months. Then there was the Russell birthday weekend debacle, which cost us $650 instead of $300.

And we've all needed clothes. Russell needed stuff for school. Genny needed stuff for cooler weather and her ever increasing growth. Mike needed stuff for work and I needed one pair of jeans that wasn't either too small or too big. And we still need stuff, but after doing the budget last night with Mike, the turnip is pretty bloodless and anemic these days.

We're going to Vegas for a convention for Mike's work and we'd allotted $300 for that, but we talked about it and realistically decided that we could eat meals and fart around on a lot less, so we could pay more bills. We figure if we rent 24 hour porn and ran back and forth to the hot tub and pool, and poked our heads out for food occasionally, that would be just fine.

And we're not dying here. It's just that somehow when Mike's company offered to pay him a buttload of money, I assumed it would translate to more working capital in the household. But our household costs more money. We went up from $925 in rent to $1100 and we're paying more in terms of utilities because my employer is now out of state, my phone bill is about $300/month and we're paying the water and sewage here. I'm just hoping that I can deduct the phone bill. I don't know if I can though, but I'll be checking that out for sure. I think I have to hit a limit in order to itemize my deductions and if we had a house payment that would rock.

With our credit though, fat chance of that, I tell you.
