My sugars are starting to pop up again, so I've tightened down my food within an inch of its life to double check it and I'm starting to slip upwards. I'll probably increase my insulin to 44 units in the morning in the next day or so.
I'm on antibiotics, so the cold and asthma stuff is going away. I'm always amazed at how well that works. I've still got allergies, but at least I don't feel so crappy. And yesterday, I had a baby browsing orgasm. My friend Karen took me around to baby places in Sacramento and a few less babyish places. First, we went to the Bunny Patch where I found the cutest assortment of Beatrix Potter stuff. That will go with the bedding I'm making, so I'm quite pleased to find some stuff to go with it. I was bummed that the musical mobile was $55, however, but it was nice to dream. I will be buying some of the little rattles of Jemima Puddleduck and a flopsy bunny and I'm about dying to have the little throw rug of all the characters to put on the floor in front of the crib. I know it's stupid -- I mean who needs a dumb throw rug? But I'm nesting dammit and I know I can squeeze the budget tight enough to get a throw rug out of it. I also rethought the bassinet -- the one that is probably coated in a fine sheen of lead-based paint because it's an antique, dontcha know. I think rather than using the Beatrix Potter fabric for something the baby will only use for a few months, I'm going to save the fabric, make curtains and a crib bumper and use this thin white stuff I have a big giant roll of for the bassinet. It'll be light and diaphanous, um and cheap, too! |
