All things green.

Well, this morning I woke up and I could hardly breathe. My sinuses are clear, but my chest seemed tight and I sounded like death warmed over. I stayed home and did some work on the computer and fussed with some pictures, but I also slept quite a bit.

Mike and I were talking about the wearing of the green for the day. I pulled out a green "Ireland" shirt for Russell to wear with his green jeans (which vaguely reminds me of Captain Kangaroo and his cohort in child mind control, Mr. Green Jeans) and went rummaging through my drawers for a green shirt or something for myself.

On the way out to the car, Russell asked Mike why he wasn't wearing any green and Mike told him he was wearing green underwear and offered to show him. As they got in the car, Russell looked and was fully aware that there weren't no green in them thar undies. He told Mike,"Hey, those aren't green!" To which Mike replied,"Well, I've been crapping green and I kind of got a little in my underwear this morning, so I've got a little green in my underwear." Russell, who was fairly grossed out at this point (who isn't?) yelled,"Disgusting, Mike!" and rolled down the window.

It's conversations like this, that make me rethink this marriage thing, I tell ya.

We had our premarital counseling appointment for the church today. We had to go see a professional to meet the requirements of the church, so we went to go see a woman who has worked with our family before when Russell was struggling with behavioral issues (due to his frustration from not being understood often!).

It was weird that as we went through the various issues how each of them seemed to fall into place for us. We both sort of knew where we were weak and how we depend on each other for various things and we both know how we split up the chores and *jobs* of running the household.

I think I was feeling anxious because I get so spazzy about everything these days, but by the end of it, I felt so affirmed by it all. (There was a little part of me saying to myself, oh my god, what if this woman says we're a match made in HELL?!)

Afterwards we went to the mall and picked up Russell's Pokemon cards. We also priced and bought the Pokemon game for him and we're going to give him that at the baby shower, so he doesn't feel left out at all. I think it's going to be hard to see this unborn sibling getting all this cool stuff and he won't get any, so we figured we'd hedge our bets a little and make sure there was something for him.

After farting around the mall and looking at all this stuff we couldn't afford, we headed home. When I got home, I was feeling pretty congested and hacked something nasty and bright green up ---just in time for St. Patrick's Day! I called the doctor and after his psych final tonight, Mike's going to pick me up my antibiotics.

I can't drink green beer, so I've got green sputum. Now, why can't I get a date?
