of youth and soft breezes
We were kids again for a brief time,
leaving Life behind
one sunny day in April.
Just around the block,
we went to the park
where we were magically transformed into children
while enveloped in the sun.
We jumped on the swings
and soared higher & higher
until we thought we could see heaven.
We climbed up on the monkeybars
and tried to see your house.
The world looked so big from up there
and we suddenly felt so small.
The heat made us sleepy
and we fell down on the grass
in each other's arms,
listening to our hearts
resonate with nature.
To smell spring in the breezy air,
to hear the birds serenade us from the trees,
to spin around and around
faster and faster
delirious with blurry happiness
to be under April's spell
of youth and soft breezes
rewinding the years,
to be eternal children
sweet-toothed and starry-eyed
innocently alive
hypnotized
The world continues spinning, unaware
and Time is moving forward
and we sadly leave at all behind
until next time--
