“Estratosterra"
Videoinstallation
Ricardo Pons
The archeologist (like the artist), goes to the selected place
(or probably de found it), where he will start to cave, right into the depths of
the terrain.
Both archeologists and artists work their intuition;
playing with cards.
He'll accurately fight against his enemies: hidden agents from the terrain and
nature degradation processes, trying one more time to make a
resignification of the signs of the times fixing as a document the objects that
could unavoidably disappear ...
“Estratosterra” Videoinstallation:
Description:
The installation is based on a vertical projection on a screen that lays on the
floor.
Over the floor surface black soil will be spread around the screen. Images will appear to emerge from a hole in the terrain. Because of the relationship between the light intensity and the distance floor-projector, the screen will seem to be a cathodic ray tube.
Like an archeological excavation, the screen will be rounded
by a cord, and some archeological instruments will be spread among other
elements.
The video was edited including documentary images, text and especially composed music.
This installation was thought as a loop. Each cycle will take 5 minutes
approximately.
