Australians a terrorist target in Singapore
A group of 21 people have been arrested in connection with a plot to blow up the
Australian High Commission and other targets in Singapore.
South-east Asia correspondent, Peter Lloyd reports the arrests were made last
monthm, but the details of the story have just been released.
"Singapore authorities say some of those detained, had undergone military training at
al-Qaeda camps in Afghanistan."

Lloyd ssays, "The 21 are all Singaporean nationals and include 19 with past or
present membership of Jemmah Islamiyah a militant group linked to Osama bin
Laden's network."
"Thirteen people are already in custody over the planned attacks, which came to light
late last year, after the discovery of incriminating video tapes in Afghanistan."
"All 34 are now being held under Singapore's Internal Security Act, which allows for
indefinate detention without trial."
