Monday, August 5
Makato village(Tojo sub-distric), was attacked early in the morning, around 4 a.m., a
group of stranger attacked. Witnesses said that between 80 and 100 men dressed in
black ninja outfits attacked the village from opposite directions crying "Allahu Akbar!"
(God is great! in Arabic)
Victim
4 women and 1 man were shots. 2 people were traumatic and shock. 7 people were
missing.
Casualties
Tens of houses and 1 Pentecostal Church were burned.
Thursday, August 8
Mayoa Village (Pamona Selatan sub-district) was attacked.
Victim
An Italian tourist, Lorenzo Taddei, who was killed in by the attackers on a public bus.
Four other passangers, Heronimus Banculu, 36, Timotius Kemba, 52, Karangan, 21,
and Alberting, 45, were critically injured because of the shots.
Casualties
No other physical casualties reported
Friday, August 9
All the Christian homes in the villages of Malei and Tongko were burned.
Casualties
All Christian houses in that village those two village were burned.
Sunday, August 11
An armed clash between rival Moslem and Christian gangs happened in Malei Lage
village.
A group of people attacked Rononuncu village.
Victim
One people died from the clash.
August 11, five Christians, passengers on a bus from Makassar (South Sulawesi) to
Gorontalo (North Sulawesi) were killed. The bus was hijacked and four bodies thrown
from it as it passed through Kayamanya in Poso, but by the time authorities arrived,
the bodies had disappeared.
Casualties
At Rononuncu village, burning to the ground at least 17 houses.
Monday, August 12
Sepe village, Silanca village, and Batu Gencu village in Lage sub-district were again
attacked.
Sepe was attacked by a large group of men dressed in black and firing automatic
weapons. Some of the villagers tried to ward off the attack using machetes, sickles
and sharpened bamboo, but they soon saw their defense was futile against automatic
weapons. As they fled they saw their houses being plundered and burned to the
ground. This was the second time that village had been razed by militants, having
been attacked by the Laskar Jihad last December.
After burning Sepe to the ground, the attackers continued on to Silanca and continued
looting and burning until that whole village also was destroyed. Five loud bomb blasts
were heard in Silanca, and more blasts came from Sepe. Repeated gunshot could be
heard "all over the place". One report states that four trucks carrying a small army
unit drove to Silanca and Sepe once the attacks were over and the attackers had
gone.
The village of Batu Gencu also was attacked. In all, hundreds of homes of Christians
were destroyed.
Victim
At least five persons were killed in the attacks. Two people, D Tangkunan dan
Samson Tange, were critically injured. According to the government, 3,500 people
were displaced from Sepe and Silanca and surrounding areas, apparently to Tentena.
Casualties
Sepe was totally destroyed. The Sepe Pentecostal Church and the Eklesia Protestant
Church were burned. 90 percent of Silanca was burned down.
One elemantary school school at Kelurahan Kasintuvu, 1 mosque at Kelurahan
Kawua and one church at kelurahan Gebang Rejo were burned.
Thursday, August 15
A group of strangers attacked Mayumba village (Morawali sub-district).
Victim
3 people died.
Friday, August 16
An unknown group of men conducted a siege on a village in Morowalyu district.
Victim
one person wounded by a gunshot and one baby died.
Casualties
43 houses burned
Saturday, August 17
Mayumba Village (Mori Atas Sub-district) was attacked.
Victim
Four persons were killed.
Casualties
43 houses were burned.
Sunday, August 18
Several bomb explosions in Poso town at 5 locations, but no casualties were
reported. Three bombs were located at the kelurahan of Gebangrejo and Kayamanya.
The police have confiscated weapons in several towns of the district.
Tuesday, August 20
Bunta Toini village (Poso Pesisir Sub-district) was attacked.
Casualties
One house was set on fire.
Tuesday, August 27
Two bombs exploded at different location at Jalan Morotai Kelurahan Gebang Rejo.
Victim
One police and one person died.
