Epilogue
A delicious warmth seemed to envelop her. Someone was holding her hand - this didn't seem like death. There was an ache in her lower body, a welcome change from the pain she felt there last. The bleeding seemed to have stopped too. She held on to the hand, not letting it go.
"Shh... she's waking... be quiet..." she heard whispers.
The someone's other hand was now gently caressing her hand. "Wake up," came a male voice, softly.
"F-father?" she moaned.
"No... wake up, Naimee," the voice seemed slightly hurt. "I'll leave you two alone," another voice faded away as if its speaker was going away.
She recognized the voice at last.
"Halire... what... what happened?"
"The GMs came... one of them had resurection magic. You were almost beyond all hope, but not quite."
"And what of my target?"
"Autopsy showed that he died of internal bleeding in the chest area. The weapon was never found -"
"Soul arrow." Naimee interrupted him.
"What?" Halire asked, puzzled.
"Soul arrow. I shot him with it. I don't know how... but I did."
"Us snipers always get the job done, of course. And one more thing..."
"Yes?" She opened her eyes at last, and just as she expected she saw his face.
"Happy New Year." He leaned a bit down, and she raised her face a bit up until their faces met.
The End.
