Koh Chang
Koh Chang is a little piece of paradise lying only about five hours outside of Bangkok. Althought this island has recently been earmarked for high-end development, it is still relatively lazy and has not become another Pattaya just yet. In the midst of preparing for an unexpected return to Japan, I managed to get down to Koh Chang to enjoy some lazing about with Krista. Since we got flooded out of our Koh Tao beach paradise, we gave beach-bumming another go here on Chang. I hoped to spend loads more time with Krista, but I suddenly found myself in a whirlwind of visas and packing. Still, I managed to get in a solid week of beach fun.
My first stop on Koh Chang was here at Lonely Beach. The beach was quiet and beautiful and my bungalow looked out over the bay. Paradise!
In spite of having found heaven on a strip of beach, I soon moved into the more inhabited area of White Sand Beach, where I met up with Krista and spent a lovely week hanging around and doing very little day and night.
Yup. White Sands is where the cool cats hang out. Tee hee!
And hanging out is exactly what I did. Nothing to do but lay back in the shade, collect shells and watch the sunset. Oh yes, and play with fire.
And, uh, sword fight, too...
Yes, a very good holiday indeed. Minimum sunburning (miraculously) and maximum coconut lahssi drinking. Now that`s what I call a holiday! There was one important element missing, however. Ryota was not on holidays, so I had to play without him. I want to say, `poor lonely me!` but I think Ryota takes top honours for waiting it out here in the jungle whilst I soaked up the sun and surf. My hero!
