A Letter From Heaven
April 10, 2000
Dear Mom and Dad,
First, I want you to know that I am OK now.
The pain is all gone and my struggles are over. You see, I am now in the
place that you call Heaven.
Remember what you said? I would go to a place
where the sun is always shining, the grass is always green and the sky is
always blue, where I could breath easy, and never have to struggle again!
Well it’s everything you said it would be
– and more!
There are so many things I wanted to say to
you but never got the chance. So, I decided to write you these letters
from heaven.

A Letter From Heaven
January 5, 2000
Dear Mom and Dad,
Today is my Birthday! Hey everybody - Happy

Thanks mom and dad for giving me the gift of
life!

A Letter From Heaven
January 10, 2000
Dear Mom and Dad,
My first few days have been kind of tough. We
know now that I am a sick little boy and I will need special care.
That’s why I’m glad I got you guys for my
parents!! The doctors at this hospital have been great.
Thanks mom and dad for giving me the best care
in the whole world!
Love, Andre
P.S. I sure liked that helicopter ride!

A Letter From Heaven

Dear Mom and Dad,
I got to go home to my new house today. I like
being home a lot better than that hospital. It’s nice here – and I
like having my big sister and brother around!
Thanks guys, for having such a great house for
me to call home!
Love, Andre

A Letter From Heaven
February 15, 2000
Dear Mom and Dad,
What a great party at Dede and Mig’s house!
All of those people – my brother and sissy, my new cousin Brandon, my
other cousins, my aunts and my uncle.
This is a great family!
Love, Andre
P.S. Happy Birthday Aunt Kendra!

A Letter From Heaven
February 19, 2000
Dear Mom and Dad,
We had to come back to the hospital today for
some help from the doctors. I’m trying real hard but my body is very
sick. So the doctors are going to help me for a while.
Please thank everyone for all the prayers!
Love, Andre

A Letter From Heaven
March 5, 2000
Dear Mom and Dad,
Happy 5th Anniversary!
I know the hospital isn’t the most romantic
place to celebrate, but I hope you guys took some time out to be thankful
for each other.
I know I sure did!
Love, Andre

A Letter From Heaven
March 10, 2000
Dear Mom,
We had a tough week at 5 tower. Thank you for
the millions of kisses, the countless hours of singing to me, holding me
in your arms, and walking the halls with me at night. There really is no
medicine as good as being held by you!
And I like that song you sing about sunshine
– except I think you have it wrong. You see, mom, you are my sunshine!
All My Love, Andre

A Letter From Heaven
March 28, 2000
Dear Mom,
Today I heard you talking to the doctors
again. You sure got upset with them. I heard someone say that you were
strong willed!
Funny thing is, they say the same thing about
me. I think I must have gotten it from you.
Thanks mom, for fighting so hard for me! I
love you with all my heart, too.
Yours Always, Andre

A Letter From Heaven
March 29, 2000
Dear Dad,
You’ve been coming to see me late in the
evenings after work – you know "the night crew". I can’t
tell you how much that means to me. I really look forward to our time
together each night.
Dad, every night I hear you tell me how much
you love me and how so, so sorry you are. But my life has been God’s
will. And you don’t ever have to apologize to me for God’s will.
Thank you dad for the calm of your voice, the
strength of your arms, the millions of kisses, and the tickle of your
beard! I love you too, dad, with all my heart.
Love Always, Andre
P.S. Dad, you are my "bud" too!

A Letter From Heaven
March 31, 2000
Dear Mom and Dad,
Today was a tough day for both of you. You
signed the DNR. What you did was the most selfless thing a parent could
ever do. You made a decision to give me back to God! I know how you both
struggled, but I want to thank you for your courage and strength and
faith.
It is in your courage that I can now be
courageous; it is in your strength that I can now be strong; and it is in
your faith that I can now have faith in eternal life.
I love you so much for the love you’ve shown
me!
Your Son, Andre

Dear Taylor and Kirby,
Today I got to come home. I am so happy to see
my big sister and my big brother again.
Thanks sissy, for all the kisses! You give
great hugs too!
Make sure to share your hugs with Kirby.
Love Always, Andre
P.S. Guys, I really do like that YMCA song!

A Letter From Heaven
April 4, 2000
Dear Dad,
Happy Birthday, bud!
I’m glad I could be here with you on your
special day!
Love, Andre

A Letter From Heaven
April 5, 2000
Dear Mom, Dad, and all my family,
Today I am 3 months old. And even though it
may seem like a short time – I feel like I have lived an entire
lifetime. Please know that you have all had as big an impact on me as I
have had on you!
You see, in 3 months I have been given more
love and affection than many kids get in a lifetime. I have had more
prayers for me than most people would get in 2 lifetimes. I learned about
faith, and have been able to teach about faith. I have brought some people
closer to each other and I have brought others closer to God!
My hope is this; that the effects of my life
will not be measured in terms of days – but in terms of generations.
My Love to All, Andre

A Letter From Heaven
April 9, 2000
Dear Mom and Dad,
The house is now quiet and my Angels have come
to take me home to Jesus. I feel I can go quietly now because my work here
is done.
Please don’t cry for me because I am going
where everyone wants to be – Heaven.
I have touched the hand of God. I have seen
the face of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and he is calling me to him – just
like the stories in the Bible.
And just as you promised, the Angels are now
holding me close.
Mom and dad, through you, God gave me the gift
of life. In faith, you baptized me and claimed my life in the name of
Jesus. With love and compassion you offered me back to God.

Now I have been granted salvation and the gift
of eternal life! A boy couldn’t ask for anything more. I love you for
that! Thank you!
Taylor, I want to thank you for all the
prayers you said for me each night. They made a big difference for me.
Your prayers comforted me in my times of need. And even though I have gone
to live with Jesus, you will always be my big sister – and I will always
be your baby brother. Thank you for loving me so much!
And Kirby, one day you will be old enough to
read this and I hope you will understand how important you were to me
during these last few months. You see, you have been a constant reminder
of how precious and sweet childhood is supposed to be. Your innocence and
your humor have given people much needed relief in this emotional time.
Thanks for guarding my plugs, and for just being you!
When you guys play YMCA, you can bet that I
will be dancing with you in heaven!

Dad, I know how much you all love me. You said
I wouldn’t know just how much until I got to Heaven – but I knew even
before. Keep me close to your heart, and I will keep you close to mine.
And don’t be afraid to let your love for me spill over abundantly to
Taylor, Kirby, and mom. They need you now just as I have.
Mom, you said you would always be looking for
me after I have gone. Well you don’t have to go far. You will see me in
Taylor’s smile. You will see me in Kirby’s eyes. You will see me in
dad’s love and his laughter. And you will see me when you look in the
mirror. For a part of me is in each of you – and a part of you in heaven
with me!
I have had a wonderful life filled with Faith,
Love, Laughter, Music, Tears, Hugs, Kisses, Smiles, Compassion, Sadness,
and Joy! Great Joy! Thank you for those gifts – and thank you for all
your love.

As I know you will be loving me, I will be
loving you from heaven, and praying for you every day!
With All My Love, Your Son, Andre
P.S. I’m going to go play now. Did I mention
that the sun is always shining, the grass is always green and the sky is
always blue…
