if music be the food of love
If music be the food of love, sing on till I am filled with joy;
for then my listening soul you move to pleasures that can never cloy.
Your eyes, your mien, your tongue declare that you are music everywhere,
Pleasures invade both eye and ear
so fierce the transports are, they wound.
And all my senses feasted are
Tho' yet the treat is only sound.
Sure I must perish by your charms unless you save me in your arms.
Henry Purcell
never seen blue
some boy you are
to take me by the hand
through an elevator
got a little red light that tells you, boy
where the razor's been
you said "girl if you think,
you can turn that violator,
you'll finally be that woman, yes
finally be that woman
that's been frozen in that pretty silver gown"
yes
and I've never seen blue
like the blues he drives
in and around and through me again
I said I've never seen eyes
like the blues he drives
in and around and through me again
through me again, through me again
hey
some boy you are
to wear my color red
to wear it very proudly
wear it like a lady
knows how to cross her legs
where...
I've never seen blue
like the blues he drives
in and around and through me again
said I've never seen eyes
like the blues he drives
in and around and through me again
through me again, through me
yes
said...
say goodbye...

Tori Amos
The character is in love and she is amazed by it. She is amazed that he accept her, takes her hand...She has some bad things in her past (I think the "razor" line is an reference to Tori's "Blood Roses")...Perhaps she wants to take any new relationship slowly ("Gotta a little red light...").
The character's lover is showing her how to be more of herself (an important thing in relationships)...Perhaps he is saying, "YOU can heal, you can change yourself."
And, she is in love with him. His eyes are beautiful...they see through her.
In the next verse ("Some boy you are / To wear my color red..."), she is saying he is special to stick with her...maybe she has a problem or a bad reputation, but he is still proud to be associated with her. "...My color red" makes me think of Hawthorne's Scarlet Letter, but...probably not what Tori was thinking.

i'm wondering why
i got out of bed at all
the morning rain clouds up my window
and i can't see at all
and even if i could it'd all be grey
but your picture on my wall
it reminds me that it's not so bad
it's not so bad
[...]
and then you call me
and it's not so bad
it's not so bad and
i want to thank you
for giving me the best day of my life
and oh just to be with you
is having the best day of my life

I want someone to know me
Maybe tell me who I am
Cause I’ve faced down my demons
And cried out to a god
A god I’ve never seen
[...]
I want you to love me
Like you did before you knew me

Trust no one is the one thing that I learned

kissing you
Pride can stand a thousand trials,
The strong will never fall.
But watching stars without you, my soul cried.
Heaving heart, it's full of pain.
Oh, oh, the aching.
'Cause I'm kissing you. Oh.
I'm kissing you, oh. [...]
Where are you now?
Where are you now?
'Cause I'm kissing you.
I'm kissing you. Oh.

I don't belive you're leaving cause me and Charles Manson like
the same ice cream
I think it's that girl
and I think there're pieces of me you've never seen
maybe she's just pieces of me you've never seen,
well all the world is
all I am
the black of the blackest ocean
and that tear in your hand
all the world is
DANGLIN'..danglin'...danglin' for me DARLIN'
you dont't know the power that you have
with that tear in your hand
tear in your hand

caught a ride with the moon
I know I know you well
well, better than I used to
HAZE all clouded up my mind
in the DAZE of the why it could've never been
so you say and I say you know you're full of wish
and your "baby baby baby babies"
I tell you there're pieces of me you've never seen
maybe she's just pieces of me you've never seen well..

Had a Northern lad
well not exactly had
he moved like the sunset
god who painted that-
first he loved my accent
how his knees could bend
I thought we'd be ok
me and my molasses
But I feel something is wrong
But I feel this cake just isn't done
Don't say that you don't [...]
girls you've got to know
when it's time to turn the page [...]
I loved his secret places
but I can't go anymore
"you change like sugar cane"
says my northern lad
I guess you go too far
when pianos try to be guitars [...]
you know it's time to change
when you're only wet
because of the rain.

hey jupiter
No one's picking up the phone
Guess it's me and me
And this little masochist
She's ready to confess
All the things that I never thought
That she could hear
Hey Jupiter
Nothings been the same
So are you gay
Are you blue
Thought we both could use A friend to run to
And I thought you'd see with me
You wouldn't have to be something new
Sometimes I breathe you in
And I know you know
And sometimes I take a swim
Found your writing on the wall
If my hearts soaking wet
Boy your boots can leave a mess
Hey Jupiter
Nothings been the same
So are you gay
Are you blue
Thought we both could use a friend
To run to
And I thought I wouldn't have to keep
With you
Hiding
Thought I knew myself so well
All the dolls I had
Took my leather of the shelf
Your apocalypse was fab
For a girl who couldn't choose between
The shower or the bath
And I thought I wouldn't have to be
With you
A magazine
No one's picking up the phone
Guess it's clear he's gone
And this little masochist
Is lifting up her dress
Guess I thought I could never feel
The things I feel
Hey Jupiter
