The deep side to Sora can really relate to me.
She often feels that no one cares about her and that no one loves her.  She's actually very lucky to have so many friends, the digidestined.
well, i believe that Sora is not very secure.  She's unstable. 
You couldn't really say she's inwardly tough like Mimi or the others.  She's actually really sensitive. 
In the episode of The Crest of Love, Sora gets the Crest of Love.  She wondered why it wouldn't glow. 
She got captured by DemiDevimon and it told her that
the crest wouldn't glow because no one has ever loved her and she hasn't loved anyone back.
Still,you might wonder why Sora got so sensitive about the whole issue.
Yes, she is sensitive but i think there's a deeper side.
She could've ignored the fact that she was said to not have been loved or love back.  If it was Mimi, i bet she wouldn't totally denied the whole thing and said it wasn't true.
Sora got really upset on the whole thing.  
She remembered how her mum told her not to play soccer anymore because she got hurt.
Now she understands that her mum DID love her.  Her mum cared about her and didn't want her to get hurt again.
Sora realized this when Birdramon was wounded but still wanted to fight DemiDevimon.  Sora told Birdramon not to continue fighting but it still insisted on trying to defeat Demidevimon.
Here, it is like Birdramon as Sora and Sora as her mum.
So this is when Sora finally knew she was loved.

Sora has a lot in her mind.  She seems to be always thinking about something.  Whenever there is trouble, she's calm and tries to protect everybody.  Whenever they're sad or depressed, she's the one who looks on the bright side of things to cheer everybody up.
Yea, she looks tough (not as in gangster tough) and she hardly freaks out (she has...when Tai's involved in sticky situations!) but every Sora fan knows she isn't.
Well, you can say she's like a crab.
She bottles everything up while acting calm and steady on the outside of her 'shell'.
Well, being a sensitive person, she does sometimes show her feelings by crying or by a sudden out burst like on Tai in the episode of The Crest of Love.
