LEPIDOPTERAN

within the walls
of this fragile husk
a miracle takes form
molecules collapse
reorganize themselves
to perfection
unseen
beneath a cocoon
of flesh and bones
battered by elements
natural and man made
till the day
a beautiful creature
unrecognizable
from which it was contained
emerges
to stretch wings
toward Heaven
