It'll Be A Riot- 1

"It'll be a riot" Seth Michaels joked over the phone. Kay Mason, Seth's partner at the Bureau, tossed her head back and laughed as she hung up with good intentions. From behind her Cody snaked his arms around her waist. "What's so funny?" She slipped from his arms and walked into the closet. "You know, you're late once and no one ever forgets it? Seth was calling to give me a hard time, made sure I'd be at work by six. A couple days ago the Bureau got a tip from a news station, who in turn got an anonymous tip about a demonstration that's going to be pulled off outside the National Archives building. It's probably because of all the chaos these days in politics, and those supposed votes being withheld in the N-A Building. You know how touchy the government is, there'll be ten or so of us and a few dozen local police, nothing big. No body expects much to happen, just a precaution. If something does happen the most trouble we expect is difficulty in telling the difference between the bad guys and the people with good intentions. There are so many people out there though, hopefully no tourists get tied up in this..." She came out of the closet, dressed in flannel pajamas, her hair tied in a loose knot at the base of her shoulder blades.     "Sounds fun." Kay shuffled over to the bed. Cody, the man like most with a far to kiddish personality beat her to the sky blue bed. He threw back the covers, nearly dislodging them from the bed completely and jumped, skillfully, into the middle of the bunk. Kay's right eyebrow rose and she scrunched her nose. She laughed musically and smiled lopsidedly at her husband. She got into bed and inched down under the well worn comforter. Kay inhaled the clean, familiar scent of the bedding, and sighed as Cody wrapped his arms around her waist once again. She unsheathed one arm from the warm recess of the blankets just long enough to reach out and turn off the bedside lamp's dull yellow glow. Husband and wife fell to sleep quickly and peacefully in each other's arms.
Cody woke up to the familiar buzzing of the alarm clock at Kay's side of the bed at four-thirty. He ran a finger along the back of her neck and she shifted slightly. He shook his arm to wake it up, and reached over his sleeping wife's form turning the pestering sound off. Kay rolled onto her back sleepily. Cody smiled at her and rubbed her stomach. "Good Morning." He laughed and small puffs of air blew wisps of hair over her cheeks. She kissed him with her eyes still closed and threw the covers over his head.
