Debbie Joubert is the creator and editor of our websites. She will soon be writing a column about creating websites for individual writers. She also writes under the pseudonym, DJ Bat. She lives in Gauteng with her husband and three children. By day she is an accountant and by night, when she has the time, she writes and designs websites on a non-professional basis. As a young child, Debbie created stories in her head and read a lot; as an adult, she discovered the joy of transferring those stories in her head to paper. She feels that most writers are always first and foremost, readers. Her favourite genre (to read) is mystery and suspense, and poetry. When it comes to writing, poetry will always be her first love, followed by fiction (comic romantic thrillers), although she has written many non-fiction articles, edited a church youth magazine as well as a inhouse company magazine, and has written a church youth play. Her poems are mostly socio-political, dealing mainly with social injustices in Africa. She's proudly South African, but is not blind to the failings of those in positions of authority. Her current work-in-progress is a marathon work of fiction that she is co-writing with another author - it is approximately a ten book series, of which seven have already been written.   (compiled by DJ Bat)
