Last Night Before I Closed My Eyes

Last night before I closed my eyes,
I knelt beside my bed.
With folded hands, and humbled heart,
To God these words I said:

"Thank You for Your gift of love.
So Unconditional and free.
You always walk beside me
Though the sinner that I be.

Thank You for my family.
They fill my heart with love.
They are the greatest blessing
You have sent from up above.

Thank You for my special friends.
For those both near and far.
Please bless them each and every one.
They are my shining stars.

And thank You for a special gift.
An angel You did send.
This angel's name is David.
He is my dearest friend.

Let him know I always love him.
Though we are worlds apart.
This special guardian angel,
Has a place within my heart.

Please watch over him and bless him.
And keep him from all harm.
Comfort him and guide him
Keep him safe within Your arms.

Thank You Lord for listening.
My words are near the end.
Thank You for these special souls.
To me, You chose to send."

I climbed in bed and closed my eyes.
Much comfort I found there.
Because of all my blessings.
And God had heard my prayer.
