| SIMPLICITY
|
| I am simplicity: |
| Attainable but unattachable; and you would want to go a ‘courting still? |
| I’m here at your bequest and you would want the rest?
|
| To lie in clover and feel a certain fear, just to roll over and find that you’re near; |
| Such little things for I am small fill me up enormous awe. |
| Such are my moments with you, like volumes at night read by candle light.
|
| I’ve known many men but none like you. |
| Are you a man, or a gift to me from heaven? |
| The men I’ve touched have grabbed at me while you touch back.; |
| To touch is to know as the blind will tell us.
|
| I love you. |
| Those awful words once spoken, weren’t meant to beg you stay or bind you with unseen shackles |
| like the birds in flight unbroken. |
| Should life lead you to a road to find yourself apart from me - fine |
| For true love is boundless and forever goes.
|
| You and I with a kiss good-bye threw a pebble in the lake. |
| Do you think we'll ever count all the rings that it will make? |
| And where it finally ends, no one knows; |
| For true love is boundless and forever flows.
|
| So, when you find the time is nigh to give me that kiss good bye’ |
| I will turn to watch you go, but in my heart I’ll say hello. |
