The Examination for Lieutenant: Year 1.
"Good afternoon, Ensign Kim."
"Commander."
"This is the annual promotion board interview. Promotion to Lieutenant
is conditional on at least one year's service, Captain's
recommendation and passing this oral examination."
"I understand, sir."
"Good. Just a few procedural questions first. During the past year,
have you consorted with any known criminals?"
Harry grinned. "Not unless you count Tom Paris."
Chakotay called up a file. "Convicted of treason against Starfleet.
Pardoned pro tempore by order of Captain Janeway," he looked Harry in
the eye, "three hundred and sixty-four days ago."
He motioned towards the door. "Better luck next year, Ensign."
