Summary: Tuvok reflects on why he went back for the Captain and
Chakotay in "Resolutions".
The Examination for Lieutenant - year 2b.
Since achieving Kohlinar, I have endeavoured to act strictly in
accordance with logic. It concerns me, therefore, to suspect
certain actions may have been chosen on emotional grounds.
After departing from New Earth, I knew the chain of command must
be regularised, which required certain promotions. As I was
meditating on the inclusion of one name on my list, I found myself
persuaded to change my plans, and rescue the Captain.
Was my acquiescence caused by an emotional attachment to Captain
Janeway? I hope not. I prefer to believe that I changed my mind
simply to avoid promoting Ensign Kim.
