The Examination for Lieutenant: Year 5d
As the reception progressed, Harry Kim found himself at Seven's side
for a moment.
"So tell me, Seven," he began, "Would you have dated me if I were a
Lieutenant?"
"Affirmative."
"So the only reason you rejected me was..."
Seven nodded. "Because you were an Ensign."
Suddenly, harmless banter didn't seem funny any more. With a mumbled
apology, Harry left.
"That was a little harsh, Seven," said the Doctor.
"Ensign Kim did not allow me to explain my reasoning."
"Which was?"
"Lieutenant Torres threatened me with dismemberment if I touched 'a
certain Ensign'. However, she neglected to say which one."
