March of the Living 1999 Diary

April 21, 10:10 PM

What a night! This is what last night should have been!

The only bad thing about tonight is that I lost my camera, but it's a disposable and only had about 6 pictures on it. Okay, now that that's out of the way, on to the good stuff.

First we had a supper. Ari and I met a boy called Nicolas from Argentina. I took a picture of him, Ari, and I, but I guess it's lost now. : ) He was really nice, though.

After that, there was this dance performance for us and they were amazing! They were like the Israeli group that came to Bialik earlier this year.

Then we danced. All the 800-odd MotL Diaspora members. We did a lot of horahs, and we were all close together, like a mosh pit. How could I never have heard of this evening before the March? I went up on Ari's shoulders several times. It's so cool to see everything from above. There were other people on other people's shoulders, and we made a second-story dance above everyone else.

Then there was a fireworks display, and I think they are some of the best I have ever seen! They even had one shaped like a Magen David (star of David)!

Even though it's only then o'clock, it seems later, at least to me. I'm tired, but it's so great.

To top it all off, Jacob got a piece of fireworks that almost fell on him!

This was definitely the best night of the trip, far better than Ben Yehuda!
