March of the Living 1999 Diary

April 23, 9:10 AM

Today is our last day together as a group. True, we have the free "weekend" tomorrow and then the final supper, but for all intents and purposes today is our last day. I find I'm having mixed feeling about the end of the trip. On one side, I want to go home to my family and my bed and sleeping and eating, etc. On the other side, it's not so much that I want to stay with the group, because we're all from Montreal, but the feeling that there's so much more of Israel I want to see or see again. For example, I'd like to spend a day at Tel Dan. I'd definitely like some more time on Ben Yehuda street, preferably with someone who knows how to bargain. There's a lot more things I'd like to do too. The whole trip was very fast and intensive, and I'd like to do things slower, then I'm well rested.

I heard about a program I'm going to look into when I get home. It's called Marva. It's a three-month program that involves army training, Kibbutz work, and things like that, and it sounds really fun.

I meet Shoshana and co. today. I'm really looking forward to that.

I made it though a week with Amy and Sarah! I'm so proud of myself! : )
