London 1999 Diary

Sun., Dec. 12, 1999
8:10 PM, Montreal time

Well, we just lifted off from Dorval airport. I'm really excited about this trip. Think about it, I'm finally managing to go to London. This is the first time I'm truly going to be in a foreign country. True, there was the March, but that's different. On the March, we were in a huge group, and everything was planned out ahead of time, down to when and what we ate. I don't think I had more than three hours of free sightseeing time in all those two weeks, and even those times I was strictly limited as to where I could go.

Not so this time. This time, I'm going to have two full days all to myself, and the rest of the week I'll be with my dad and still get to plan out where I want to go.

Yes, I'm a little nervous. after all, this is my first time "alone" in a foreign city. Nonetheless, I'll have to get used to the idea if I'm going to go backpacking. Besides, this is a fairly safe way to start off. I don't have to worry about hotel, food, or even money, really, though I did bring some. All I have to think about is having a good time, and believe me, I intend to.

Well, that's it for now. I'll write again when I have something to write about.
