LATEST NEWS (7/25):
The Anime Expo 2002 has come and gone!! Being there with our booth made me feel like a fish outta water! Our both was called "Galactic Studios" and we got very funny looks when people passed by our booth. Comments ranged from, "What the hell is this?" to actual interest. I learned that the expo had lots of stuff from plush dolls, manga, dvds, soundtracks and movies and we were the only booth that featured our independent work. I can't say that it was a total loss, cuz it wasn't. I learned from the experience and got an idea of how to do it better next time around if there is a next time!
As for where the comic is heading, things will unravel soon...A lot of people are asking about Year 4. I'm busting my butt trying to get Year 4 done in book form. It's hard when you have other titles that you're working on at the same time! But I'm planning to end College Boys soon with a graphic novel (like a movie) that provides closure to the whole series. It'll revolve around Beast Boy's origins and how Fred is connected to it some how. And Like I said before, as for "Year 4" I'm not posting anymore comics up. I'm gonna let that be available for orders in book format, but I will occasionally post screen shots from latest happenings (Masked Man revealed, how Roger ends his relationship with Karen and Beast Boy in pro wrestling...)
What started for me as a weekly comic strip for two university campus newspapers three years ago, has grown and evolved into what is now College Boys. The characters that you see in this comic strip have been mapped after interesting characters that I have encountered during my own college years.
For instance, the main character Fred is of course modeled after my brother, with the same name. And remember Roger's blinddate with Karen? Well that REALLY happened to me! Although it wasn't a blinddate, my first date with a girl named Karen (and all the hijinx) HAD TO BE incorporated into the storyline. Many people ask me about Beast Boy and where he originated from and also the mysterious "Masked Man" superhero. Well if I told you, it would take the fun out of reading the story now wouldn't it?
