I entered Sungai Wang Plaza with a couple of my friends. The first thought that I can remember striking me is, why are all those people there? I immediately figured out the answer: 911's here! Well anyway, the first thing I had to do was to actually get near enough to the center stagey bit so that I could actually see them. There was a whole mass of people (mainly other girls) who seemed to be trying to show the world exactly how many people could fit into Sungai Wang. My friends took one glance at the people and then left me to go upstairs where there were less people. I, of course, was stupid and stubborn enough to insist on getting to the stage for a close view.
After shoving a number off people aside, I managed to make it almost to the stage. However, such success does not come without problems, I probably managed to seriously injure a couple of people and I had picked up a bruise or two. Well, who cares? At least I'd have a good view when 911 entered.
After a while, I found out there was two problems. Problem #1 was that 911 was late. Problem #2 was that I was going to suffocate and die before 911 entered. The solution was to try and hang on to life till 911 got there.
Finally, after ages and ages of waiting and watching the huge TV play repeats of the 911 MTVs as well as seeing some people prance on stage dressed in silver costumes (NOT 911!!), 911 finally appeared. I can't remember the exact order they came out but it was something like Spike, Jimmy and then Lee. Spike and Jimmy wowed the audience by doing fancy dance moves while Lee just walked up and watched them.
Right after they had appeared, 911 started singing Bodyshaking. It was difficult to concentrate because a) everyone else was singing along and you couldn't hear the guys and b) everyone had started pushing and screaming. Several girls managed to faint and had to be rescued and carried to safety.
911 disappeared and EMI announced that the showcase would be cancelled if the pushing did not stop. Well, the pushing did not stop but it did lessen. I was actually able to breathe for the first time since 911 had appeared. One piece of advice though, never wear fairly thick jeans to a showcase as it was HOT!!
911 reappeared and restarted singing Bodyshaking. After that, the guys launched into Don't Make Me Wait. Next the guys started talking, though no one could hear what they were saying. After this, they launched into a medley of all their songs from the CD. However, everyone else was singing along so it was kinda difficult to hear them.
It was obvious that 911 could really dance. Although Lee was far from as good as either Spike or Jimmy, he was definitely probably a cut above average. At least, he was better than most people I had seen dancing. Jimmy and Spike showed off the latest and fanciest dance moves which left me wondering: How do they do that without breaking a bone or doing something wrong? The singing wasn't bad except they could not be heard. It sounded like there was a real loud karaoke session taking place.
During one part of the showcase, 911 showed that they like fooling around by squirting water into the audience using water guns! However, it was soon over and I shoved my way out before all the other fans could rush out. I had not arrived at Sungai Wang to get trampled to death.
Let me see, I almost got trampled to death, picked up a few bruises, nearly suffocated, waited for ages for 911 to appear and had to listen to a huge karaoke session but it was worth it to see 911 live. Next time they're here, I'm definitely attending!
