18. Epenitus Guy⁴ Armstrong (Gray³, Robert², Joseph¹) was born in Rocky Mount, Edgecombe Co, NC circa 1822. Epenitus died circa 1870 in Rocky Mount, Edgecombe Co, NC.

He married twice. He married Malinda Jane Arnwine. Malinda was born October 4, 1832. She was the daughter of James Anderson Arnwine and Nancy Lively. Malinda died August 1865 in Rush, Cherokee Co, TX. He married Elizabeth Crawford November 2, 1865.

He was listed as a resident in the census report in Rush, Cherokee Co, TX, 1860.(6) He was listed as a resident in the census report in Rocky Mount, Edgecombe Co, NC, 1870.⁽⁷⁾ Deed book 25-389 Gray Armstrong and Epenetus G. Armstrong sold land jointly, March 18, 1851. Deed book 26-251 E. G. Armstrong of Cherokee Co., TX gave power of attorney to sell land, August 20, 1853.

Epenitus Guy Armstrong and Malinda Jane Arnwine had the following children:

23 i. Mary V⁵ Armstrong was born in Rush, Cherokee Co, TX circa 1843. Mary died August 12, 1938 in Jacksonville, Duval Co, FL. Her body was interred in Evergreen Cem, Jacksonville, FL. She married Gay. (See Gay for the continuation of this line.)

24 ii. Lucinda (Lula Belle) B Armstrong was born in Cherokee Co, TX March 24, 1853. Lucinda died August 6, 1909 in Jacksonville, Duval Co, FL, at 56 years of age. Her body was interred in Evergreen Cem, Jacksonville, FL. She married A P Griffin. A was born circa 1850. A died July 6, 1900 in Jacksonville, Duval Co, FL. His body was interred in Evergreen Cem, Jacksonville, FL.(9)

25 iii. Martha Vernon Armstrong was born in Rush, Cherokee Co, TX April 22, 1855. Martha died March 28, 1941 in Jacksonville, Duval Co, FL, at 85 years of age. Her body was interred in Evergreen Cem, Jacksonville, FL. She married David Daniel Vick March 12, 1879. David was born circa 1849. David died in Rocky Mount, Edgecombe Co, NC. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Rocky Mount, Edgecombe Co, NC, 1860.⁽¹²⁾

26 iv. Emma Armstrong was born August 29, 1861. Emma died September 19, 1944 in Jacksonville, Duval Co, FL, at 83 years of age. Her body was interred in Evergreen Cem, Jacksonville, FL. She married James H Benton. James was born November 20, 1848. James died October 3, 1917 in Jacksonville, Duval Co, FL, at 68 years of age. His body was interred in Evergreen Cem, Jacksonville, FL.

+ 27 v. Charles Reigns Sr Armstrong was born July 21, 1865.
