He married Rebecca Ellen Browning December 14, 1975. Rebecca was born in Gainesville, Alachua Co, FL October 27, 1954. She is the daughter of David Browning and Janice Apaula Nichols.

Robert Altman and Rebecca Ellen Browning had the following children:

2 i. Eric 'Rick' Samuel² Altman was born in Gainesville, Alachua Co, FL September 10, 1977.

3 ii. Alexander David Altman was born in Palatka, Fl July 1, 1981.
