Schools on the Net:

St. Marys College emblem

Out of the shadows of the past...

St. Mary's College CIC & St. Mary's College (my Alma Mater 'the old White and Blue') are short names for the St. Mary's College of the Immaculate Conception located at 75 Frederick Street, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, West Indies. The college was founded on August 1st, 1863, by the Holy Ghost Fathers and is an all boys seven year secondary school of about 1,200 students between the ages of 11-18. A rivalry exist between St. Mary's College and many other secondary schools. The oldest and most well known has been the C.I.C. vs Q.R.C. which has been going on for several decades and considering that both schools are over 100 years old maybe much longer.

Bishop's Anstey High School St. Hilary's Now celebrating its 75th Anniversary the only all girls school with a page on the Web, the other four are all boys schools. (This site is still in developmental stages and this information will be updated in time).

Queen's Royal College emblem

Queens Royal College Queen's Royal College is a prolific and bounteous mother, alma mater to so many eminent contributors to national life in Trinidad and Tobago. As she approaches her 125th birthday, there is evidence that her fertility is eternal. She has nurtured many sons, and has done this with such care that one had come to be called "Father", "Father Of The Nation." Now as she endures, with calm reserve, into the next century, she is well on her way.

Fatima College's emblem

"By Striving You Shall Conquer"

Fatima College Inside the Grey Shirt, the title the school's annual publication (1981-1982 edition) has an article on the History of Fatima College 1945-1982 sister school and fierce rival to St. Mary's College. The rivalry is not longstanding as the St. Mary's vs Q.R.C. but is still legendary in it's own right. As one of the 'younger prestige schools' in the country they seek to come out of the shadows of their more established counterparts. The battle continues.

Trinity College Trinity College was founded as a private secondary school in January 1958 at Melbourne Street, POS. It was established through the efforts of the Very Rev. B. Vaughn, M.A., then Dean of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, and the Anglican Diocese to provide a sound secondary education for boys. In January 1959, upon application, the college became a government-assisted secondary school and thus became a public school. The College continues to make strides in closing the gap on some of the more illustrious secondary schools. (This site is still in developmental stages and this information will be updated in time).

St. Joseph’s Convent, St. Joseph Founded in 1870 was for many years a privately run school, that has gone through several changes over the decades. The school was offically registered in April 1954 as a Private School with a student-body of 385. Most of the School's records of the early years have been lost, with the exceptions of the bills paid by the early students. The school has continued in it's growth and strives towards excellence.

The Callaloo Company is a performing group of actors, dancers, masquerade performance artists, musicians and other performers, based in Trinidad, in the Caribbean. Several of our artforms are explored by this group sometimes taking them to new levels (such as their contribution to the opening and closing ceremonies at this years Olympics).
