Leashes

A guide to leashes

A leash is a valuable piece of equipment. It can save you a lot of hassle trying to get you board back after being wiped out. There are two types of leashes, straight or coiled. All leashes can tangle up at times, but some do this so often that you stop worrying about the surf and worry about whether the leash is going to tangle or not. Some people use a legrope but this has it's disadvantages as it can get tangled up in you fins of wrap around you legs. Coiled leashes keep the cord away from your hand while you paddle by if they're too short, then they can restrict arm movement. The coiled variety cost more but I think it's worth it because it can save you a lot of hassle
