Baja Sharkeez
Highland Ave., Manhattan Beach

Cover: None - $5 Attire: Very Casual
Best Nights: Thurs.&Fri. Avg. Age Range: 21-35

Not to be confused with Sharkey's from NBC's California Dreams, but this place does have the
same surfer/beach motif. This is one in a chain. There's another in Newport Beach, and I think
there may one somewhere else, as well. Anyways, Sharkeez is not so much a restaurant, as a bar
that happens to serve food. Actually, the food is pretty damn good. When you walk in, you can
walk straight up to the counter, peruse the menu, and order some food and a Jack & coke (or
whatever may wet your own palette). The crowd is usually a pretty good mix of guys to girls.
Mose people use Sharkeez as a lauching pad for the evening. I'd recommend doing the same.
Come here around 7pm for some dinner and drinks, and then cruise to one of the other South
Bay bars around 10:00pm (when most start to get crowded). Of course, if things are good, it
doesn't hurt to stay. There are a lot of T.V.'s, as well as a big screen in the middle of the place.
It's a great bar to watch sporting event, and it's no secret. During big games, this place can get
pretty packed, even in the daytime.
